@LN78 I canβt take ever take Jaws seriously not even as a slasher shlock. Itβs the time the slasher genre truly jumped theβ¦. Actually, Iβm not gonna say it. π
@Yousef- Did you just refer to one of the greatest movies of all time as "schlock"? I have absolutely no idea what you're talking about - but let's just say that it's a good thing that I don't take hot takes from people who hold "Revenge of the Sith" in high regard very seriously.. π€£.
PS Not for nothing but "Jaws" is emphatically NOT a slasher movie. Unbelievable.
@LN78 first half of my comment: Jaws is a slasher. Not a straightforward one, and being one isnβt supposed to be a bad thing, but Jaws was a really uninteresting movie. Itβs just a movie about a shark, so what?
Second half of my comment: I was gonna reference the Happy Days Fonzie βjumping the sharkβ term, but stopped because the joke was too easy to make (even though I donβt really completely agree that was out of character for Fonzie to do)
@Yousef- "Jaws" is not a slasher movie - it'a a creature feature. The first recognised slasher movie was "Halloween" and that came out 3 years AFTER "Jaws" in 1978. If you think it's just "a boring movie about a shark" then we have nothing further to discuss on the topic of movies.
@LN78 now now, donβt start putting words in my mouth π
That is a genuinely hilarious description though
Hmmmm wonder what else can be reduced like this
The dollar trilogy are just movies about cowboys
Seven samurai is just a movie about swords
Back to the future is just a movie about a car
Robocop and terminator are just movies about machines
Rambo is just a movie about a soldier
Goodfellas and godfather are just about mafia
Rocky is just about boxing
Of Mice and Men is just about two guys
One Flew Over the Cuckooβs Nest is just about prison
[Disclaimer, all of these are jokes. I love all these films. π]
@Yousef- This is going back a page or two, but you asked a question about chips(or fries, whatever), and for such a basic food, it's surprising how different they can be. Anyway, there's a fast food joint here in the US called Chick Fil-A, and they make these waffle fries. They are so good.
@Malaise ah, thanks for the feedback!
Yep, Iβm well aware of Chick Fil-A, Iβd try it in a heartbeat if it came to Kuwait. Tons of lesser known chains come here likeβ¦ Chipotle, for some reason. Shake Shack is one I tried too.
Waffle Fries Iβve eaten plenty of times at different places. Theyβre fire π₯
@Yousef- How interesting. I never would have thought Kuwait would have so many Western franchises of that type. Chipotle isn't too surprising as they kind of go for that trendy cultural vibe, a little like Starbucks. Shake Shack is a real surprise, though! π
Also, in response to your other musing. Vanilla all the way. You can't go wrong, and you can go crazy with the toppings. Of other flavours, I'm always down for some rocky road or mint choc chip.
@Malaise π yes, weβre currently in the phase of waiting for Arbyβs and Popeyes to re-open :3
Anyyyy minute now!
For real! Vanilla with toppings is why itβs the best.
Rocky road sounds really awesome. Although Iβve had only the sweet itself, not the ice cream flavor. Curious to try it though!
