I have bought the standard edition PS4 and PS5. In my library I can download the PS4 version however when I check the PS5 version there is a padlock there
@Cookyman1970@Abarth_71 I seem to remember seeing that there were two standard editions listed that look almost identical as they both have the PS4 and PS5 logos displayed. It's only when you view the details of the game that you see the cheaper one is the PS4 game which will run on the PS5 just in backwards compatibility mode. They should have made it more immediately obvious.
I played some of it last night. Pure car porn. Got some extra credits and three super cars as a bonus for pre-ordering the game but I still ended up buying an Aqua/Prius and taking that for a spin!
Every PS5 owner should get this game, even if it's just as a way to unwind in the evening after a hard time slaying robots or Bosses with Giant Health Bars.
Just posted this BTL in the review - I like it so far a lot:
I played this at 12.30am last night and had to rip myself away from it at 2.33am to be able to wake up for work! Gloriously polished and the driving is on point...definitely can feel the GT Sport underpinnings to the gameplay, but that is no bad thing in my books.
It is clearly huge and fully featured...I started getting into the GT Cafe-challenge game loop and it is properly compulsive. Got my first license also. It looks stunning in my eyes and is silky smooth with no loading times, which makes a huge difference.
Polyphony have also gone out of their way to make the driving accessible with all sorts of assists (I tried some and then turned most of them off).
Heck, I even enjoyed the Music Rally mode with the "Hooked by Classics" soundtrack...toe-tapping and all...more confirmation of my old age probably.
This has the old school GT feel (in a good way) - the swagger is back in a way I have not felt from this series since GT3 A-Spec. I can similarly see myself losing months to this, after I complete the sublime HFW.
My 25th Anniversary Edition finally turned up from Amazon today. I preordered and it was supposed to come with a GT key ring and all the extra DLC. I didn’t get the key ring and only some of the DLC I thought I was getting.
I got, the steel book, a digital copy for the PS4, 1,000,000 CR, 30 PSN avatars, Official digital soundtrack and a Toyota GR Yaris.
I thought you were supposed to get 3 other cars?
“Three-car pack, including:
MAZDA RX-VISION GT3 CONCEPT Stealth Model
Porsche 917 LIVING LEGEND
Toyota Supra GT500 '97 (Castrol TOM'S)”
I haven’t had chance to start it yet, so apologies if these are in the game when you start. I just assumed they would be in the DLC voucher with everything else.
The sounds of the cars are a massive improvement over the previous games. I fitted a Clio RS with a racing exhaust and the popping noises it makes now is like sweet music.
@Abarth_71 When are supposed to receive the other 3 cars? I’ve got the Toyota GR Yaris and the money but not the other 3 bonus cars. Do they unlock after completing something? Or should I have got them by now?
Spent a couple of days with it. On the whole I'm enjoying it. It's very much a car lover's game rather than an out and out racing game. It's got a broad focus on collecting, tuning, liveries etc etc. I think online will be the long game, the AI is terrible as previous GT titles.
Quite a contrast with the recently released ps5 update for assetto Corsa competitzione which is very much racing and just that, which it does extremely well. Compared with GT it's a white knuckle ride where small mistakes are brutally punished. GT notsomuch. The AI is pretty damn good too.
There both excellent games in their own right, just different.
@MightyDemon82 the single player is great. I fell off sport as for single players it just really had time trials. GT7 is a different beast and the solo play is the big selling point.
Positives so far.
The Handling
The career mode
Licence tests
The car sounds
Corner markers!!! (This is brilliant, Ive turned everything off bar the corner markers now).
History chats
Spinning out (can't remember it happening on GT Sport so easily)
Difference with each car
Negatives
Foliage is bad
Shadow pop in
Some graphic textures
Light reflecting off cars is unrealistic
The music is dreadful
Getting thrown cars like confetti (to some this will be a positive)

@themcnoisy that's a good pos/neg list. I'll maybe pick it up if I'm craving a different experience, having a great single player campaign is what interests me so I may get it for the strength of that alone. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
@Kairu Im pretty good. Got the 3 licences down at gold bar 1 damn race in a Nissan Silvia. ROFL. It's decent but not as good as I was expecting.
