First-person PS5 and PS4 romance game Venus Vacation Prism will see you dating the cast of Dead or Alive, in an all-new experience scheduled to release early next year. While this is unlikely to launch in the West, its Asian edition will feature full English subtitles, much like Dead or Alive Xtreme 3: Fortune on PS4 and PS Vita. Games on both the PS5 and PS4 are region-free.

There’ll be six ladies to date in total, with Misaki the first to be announced. Subsequent characters will be announced in the lead up to launch, with the next trailer scheduled for 7th October.

According to a translation of the blurb provided by Gematsu, you’ll find yourself in charge of the Venus Islands, where you’ll find a variety of buxom babes waiting for your attention. “Your story with the girls will unfold based on the choices you make, resulting in a variety of outcomes. The heart-fluttering sensation caused by casual gestures, the thrill felt as you draw closer to your love interest, the worry about which girl to choose… Are you ready to experience true romance on the islands of everlasting summer?”

As a first-person experience, a huge amount of emphasis appears to have been placed on the character animations. It’s unclear whether the gameplay will include minigames like the previous Dead or Alive Xtreme titles, but you will be able to take photographs of your crushes, and make “everlasting memories”.

It’ll be interesting to see whether there’s more to this than just dialogue choices, or if it’s similar to the slew of FMV titles being ported to the PS Store, like Love Is All Around. With more trailers scheduled for next month, we’re confident we’ll be seeing a lot more soon.
