Astro's Playroom is a free platforming game, included as a pack-in with the PS5. It's inspired by the characters and concepts first introduced in The Playroom and The Playroom VR, which culminated in the full-blown Astro Bot Rescue Mission for PlayStation VR. We awarded the game a 9/10 in our Astro's Playroom PS5 review, describing it as a "love letter to PlayStation".

- Puzzle Pieces are computer chip-style jigsaw pieces that you'll find in secret areas. Once collected, these help to create murals in the PlayStation Labo level. Typically there are two Puzzle Pieces to collect per stage.
- Special Bots are Astro Bot characters which can be rescued by solving riddles as part of a post-release update inspired by the upcoming Astro Bot game. There is one Special Bot per world.

Astro's Playroom Guide: Tips and Tricks for Beginners
Astroβs Playroom is not a particularly difficult game, so you shouldnβt really have too much trouble finishing it regardless of your ability level. Nevertheless, in this final part of our Astroβs Playroom guide weβre going to share some tips and tricks to help get you started.
Don't Rush
We know youβve just got your brand new PS5 console and youβre probably excited to experience all that it has to offer. That said, we really recommend you donβt rush through Astroβs Playroom, as itβs an experience that deserves to be savoured. Take your time exploring the level and discovering all of the Easter eggs; spend a moment walking on the different surfaces and seeing how it affects the DualSense controllerβs haptic feedback functionality. Above all else, have fun with friends and family, passing the pad around β experiences like this donβt come around often.
Find All the Easter Eggs
How good is your PlayStation knowledge? One of the best things about Astroβs Playroom is the sheer number of obscure references it packs into its relatively slender running time. Hereβs a fun activity you can do with friends and family at home: pull out a notepad and see if you can pen down every single Easter egg you uncover. Some of them get super obscure, so these are really going to test your Sony trivia skills.
Try and Top the Leaderboards
Donβt think once youβve completed Astroβs Playroom and found all the collectibles that the experience is over. No, itβs actually just beginning. Head to the Network Speed Run area and try and top the global leaderboards. You can use the PS5βs new Activities feature to compare your performance against friends and family; do you reckon youβve got what it takes to be the best?
And that concludes our Astro's Playroom guide. Hopefully, this has helped you to get the most out of the free PS5 platformer. If you have any further tips, tricks, and secrets to share, please post them in the comments section below.

@get2sammyb Thanks for this, these guides are really good. I will be honest though, I am going to play it through first then refer back to the guide afterwards to pop the plat!
Would you say it is easier or about the same as Astrobot VR? You may mention this in the guide but I'm scarred of seeing spoilers
@Mostik Easier than the VR guide. And yeah, have fun!
Cool, thanks. I've only got a few hidden ones to go so this helps a lot.
My first PS5 game that I played...finished and did plat on 1 sitting lol
What's this for? Did they include the game with PS+? π
This was a fun lil game hope we get more
What year is it?
On a more serious note this game was super fun. I had a bunch of games and PS+ when I got my PS5 but I still played through 100% of this and got the Platinum before I even got to any of them. I don't even chase Platinum trophies much, it was just that fun. Shame we didn't get an Astra game for PSVR2. It's really missing a "getting started" game for new VR players.
I'm glad to see this game getting a bit more love! Was my first PS5 game and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Need to get back to it for the special bots, downloaded it the other day but just haven't got around to it. Because life? (LeMans and other duties)
@BrettAwesome It's been updated, hasn't it. It seems the special bots are integrated into the guide as opposed to being tacked on as an addendum. Either way, most guides are from when it came out, and a lot more people have a PS5 now. Those that haven't played it have been tempted to give it a go with a second installment being announced, so an updated guide will be helpful to quite a few I would imagine.
@WhensDinner I'm somewhat irked that Sony haven't seen this as a perfect opportunity to show PSVR2 some love. Definitely a game many would buy without hesitation. I would be head of the queue. Even if I never got around to finishing the first VR outing... π
